As you may have heard, Sweet Pass is packing up and heading down the road toward new horizons. At the top, THANK YOU. Thank you for six full course years. On a personal level, we got married, we bought our first home, we had a child, and all the while, built tremendous life-scale friendships. Professionally, we found success in learning to write grants, fundraise, and organize joy-driven exhibitions with something to say. We stand by the belief that starting this project was only possible in Dallas—the audience, the generosity, and the community of artists have been paramount.
The true Dallas is discovered—a series of places that << IYKYK >> and once found, these places are held in fondness by the initiated. We like to think the park became one of these hidden corners, a glimmer beyond the bougie, on the periphery of the retail frenzy art market, where it could live freely, as itself—experimental, untethered, and filled with the warmth of shared vision and a love of sculpture.
We owe so much to the artists, the board members, the friends of the park, and the volunteers who schlepped and sweated alongside us. Also to the people who stumbled upon this place, bringing in a glow that only real discovery can give. Together, we built something rare: a proof of concept, a test kitchen, a sculpture project that has shone brightly.
Sweet Pass will continue, and while this chapter comes to a close, we will carry these years with us, grateful for these experiences and with tenderness towards our Metroplex memories.
Join us for our daughter’s 2nd B-DAY and the closing of Sculpture School: Concrete featuring works by artists Valentina Jager, Dalila Sanabria, Tatiana Sky, and Ariel Wood. This exhibition marks the second iteration of the Sculpture School program centered around CONCRETE and includes projects referencing bridges, basins, fountains, bunkers, and dream home blueprints. Each work explores DFW’s landscape while delving into concrete’s role as a symbol of power, dreams, and ambition.
