The Janette Kennedy Gallery presents Finding Balance II, a solo exhibition by Mikey Hernandez. Hernandez presents a body of work that is a culmination of his MA and MFA thesis work. His art explores the movement of materials in his process and the mindfulness through the practice of yoga. As he finds balance in pose, he also finds balance in his process and composition. The opening reception of Finding Balance II will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., with an artist talk at 2:30 p.m.
About Mikey Hernandez
Mikey Hernandez, a native Texan, currently resides in Irving, Texas. Formerly a
performance artist and choreographer, he moved into being a visual artist in 2019.
He graduated from the University of Dallas with a Master of Arts in Art (MA) in 2022 and a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in 2024. Mikey makes process-driven, large-scale, non-representational, abstract works on paper.
